Once considered the most ruthless inquisitor to walk the Lands, Izlimak's destiny took a most dramatic turn during the Syndicate infiltration of Miruvhor. In a heated verbal exchange with Chayesh, Izlimak challenged the Dark Lord's intentions and handling of the situation. Izlimak opposed the forceful occupation of a city already decidely set in its evil ways. Chayesh would have none of this rank insubordination and struck down Izlimak in the Central Commons as legions of undead and Syndicate faithful, led by Chayesh's chosen general, the Rat Queen, Countess Messalantha, swarmed through the city streets. Izlimak, however, was not to be dissuaded, and what happened next has yet to be explained. Izlimak would simply not die. He rose from the spot of his demise as not only undead, but truly ascended to the Divine. With his new found power, he battled Chayesh, seeking to re-establish Order to the chaotic scene. He found himself aided by Raargant the Battlerager, but even their combined power could not hold off the will of the Insatiable Twilight. Izlimak withdrew, vowing to advance the cause of Order and retake the cities to remake them in the image he saw fit, thus thwarting his former master's will.
